I don't know if I mentioned it here but we were approved for WIC some time ago--it's supplemental food program, which we qualify for since our income is low at the moment. It's a very well-run program here in Texas. No paper vouchers, just a debit style card that allows us to acquire a certain amount of eggs, cheese, milk, juice, beans, peanut butter, and cereal each month.
It's more eggs and cereal than we'd normally eat. Anybody have any recipes that call for a flaming horde of eggs? If you've got anything, throw it out. Because I have a whole lot of eggs. Bonus points if it also calls for a whole bunch of cereal.
We also applied for the Texas state children's health insurance program. We weren't sure if we'd qualify, given that we have some savings, but as it happens, we did. I just got the call a few minutes ago letting me know that the girls would be covered. This is excellent news. I'm very happy. In fact, I might cry a little bit.

Not sure about your kids, but my kids love hard boiled eggs. I cook them up and they enjoy one for lunch, or I add them to green salad for dinner and they eat the greens with them! My husband loves hard boiled eggs in his lunch too. On a special occasion I make deviled eggs.
Cereal is great as a snack too. Dry or with milk. Faye loves to make up snacks on Sunday for taking to school during the week. She pours a little bit of a few different cereals into a bowl and them bags them up. She loves to help, and I love not buying a bunch of packaged snacks!
I lived for two years with a couple who had two children. They qualified for WIC, and she, too, had more eggs and milk than she could use. She'd give me eggs every month and use her voucher to get a gallon of milk for me. However, you probably don't know too many single people in your area since you just moved. So I guess you'll just have find clever ways to eat them!
we go through more milk than we get but I would totally give eggs away if I knew anybody.
I should try the hardboiled eggs. Joe won't eat them but I like them and the kids love eggs in general. I bet they would eat it.
I know some dessert recipes that take eight to ten eggs to make. I could send them to you. Love, Jessica
I like hard boiled eggs!
Of course, I live in Erie...
